The Green Machine took the field without “Golden Boot” winner Boris Abidor and kept the Celtics off the scoreboard in the first half. Unfortunately they could not find the back of the net either. In the second half, the Celtics took control of the game and won 3-1 and won their 4 th consecutive 7 v 7 crown. They have now won 5 championships in the league’s 8 year history.They will receive the Championship plaque on September 1 st at Ukranian Night at halftime of the Chicago Fire/K.C. Wizards game.

Centrum Sport lost a heartbreaker as an own goal with three minutes left in the game sent the Green Machine to it’s first 7 v 7 final.

Ernesto Acuna continued his scoring prowess with two goals for the Celtics, sending them into their fourth straight final.

 

GREEN MACHINE’S BORIS ABIDOR WINS 2004”GOLDEN BOOT”

Boris Adidor had a spectacular season leading the Green Machine into it’s first ever 7v7 final. His 44 points (19g/6a) gave him the honor of the “2004 Golden Boot”. He becomes the sixth different winner since the award was started in 1999. He will be given the “boot” on September 1 st at Ukranian Night at halftime of the Chicago Fire/K.C. Wizards game.

Mark September 1 st on your calendars. The Championship plaque, as well as the “Golden Boot” will be presented at halftime of the Chicago Fire/K.C. Wizards game.
