CELTICS 9 KOZAKS 4 (SEMI-FINAL)
The Kozaks fought hard and were only down by 1 at the half. The floodgates opened early in the 2^nd half and the Celtics rolled into the final by a 9-4 score

LIONS 2 GREEN MACHINE 1 (SEMI-FINAL)
The Machine looked destined to reach their first 7 v 7 final. Down 1-0 late, the Lions scored twice and reached their 3^rd straight final.

GREEN MACHINE 5 KOZAKS 0 (3^RD PLACE GAME)
The Kozaks seemed disheartened by their semi-final performance while the Machine was just mad, and stomped all over the Kozaks to take 3^rd place.

CELTICS 3 LIONS 1 (CHAMPIONSHIP GAME)
Like Yogi Berra once said, “It was deja vou all over again”. For the third straight year the Celtics fought the Lions for the title, and despite a hard fought game and a 1-0 lead, the Celtics clawed back once again and took the title by a 3-1 score.

PARITY THROUGHOUT THE LEAGUE

The 2003 season featured the closest competition in league history. Weaker teams of the past restocked and on any given day, the 6ht place team could beat the first. Several teams defeated the Celtics, other teams gave them great games, but like true Champions, they prevailed in the end. The rest of the teams will take on the motto of the Chicago Cubs and “Wait until next year”.

 MOTOLKO AWARDED 2003 GOLDEN BOOT

Following 7 v 7 tradition, 2002 Golden Boot winner, Johnny Tovar, presented the 2003 Golden Boot to Jerry Motolko. Motolko had unprecedented scoring prowess, tallying an amazing 20, of the 33 Kozak goals.The 2004 “Boot” candidates will have a lot to live up to.

 3^rd ANNUAL UKRAINIAN NIGHT
WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 20^TH VS. L.A. GALAXY

The Chicago Fire thanks the 7v7 league for their support of the 2003 Ukrainian Night. Every team committed to 20 vouchers. An exciting night is planned, honoring Chicago’s Ukrainian community. The 2003 7 v 7 Champions will be recognized at halftime. Plan on joining us.  Your vouchers may be redeemed from Dynamo player,Greg Zaskowski at all 7 v 7 games. CHAMPIONSHIP/STEAK NIGHT

Once again, the staff of Palatine Cym, led by Myron Weres, put on an awesome event. The effort in the kitchen matched the effort on the field.

FIRST EVER ALL-YARO TEAM

The GM’s have talked about having an all-star game. I couldn’t wait. Since I put together this update I decided to put together my own 7 v 7 All-Star team. Each team is represented and since it’s my team, I’m the coach. Next year, this team will be decided by a vote from all the GM’s.OK guys here I go!
