JULY 17 RESULTS

KOZAKS 8 DYNAMO 0
Jerry Motolko scored 5 goals and led the kozaks to a win and they clinched a playoff berth. Chris Soltyszewski posted the shutout for the Kozaks .

CELTICS 4 GREEN MACHINE 3
In a tight match the Celtics edged the Machine to place them in prime position to capture the regular season crown. 4 different Celtics scored-Jackson/Dolborn/Ernesto/Nermie.

CELTICS 6 KOZAKS 4
Kozaks squandered a 3-1 halftime lead and Yaro’s first 2 goals of the season as Tovar and Dolborn each scored 2 to lead the Celtics to the regular season crown.

GREEN MACHINE 6 DYNAMO 1
 The Dynamo fought hard and powered by a Myron Wasiunec goal cut the deficit to 3-1. The Machine was just too powerful and behind 3 goals and 1 assist by Claudio won 6-1.

The Wings, playing only for the Chicago Avenue Cup can have an affect on final standings. The Lions need a win to remain in second place.

7:10   KOZAKS V GREEN MACHINE
The winner of this game has a chance for second place. The loser will take over 4th place and be forced to play the powerful Celtics in the first round of the playoffs .

8:10   CELTICS V DYNAMO
The Dynamo, playing only for pride, has a chance to be the only team in 7 v 7 history to sweep the Celtics.This will serve as a tune up for the Celtics as they prepare for playoffs.

 

MOTOLKO LEADS FOR THE GOLDEN BOOT

With 41 points, the Kozak’s Jerry Motolko leads the race for the Golden Boot. The Machine’s Claudio Figueroa seems to be the only one with a chance to catch him as he enters the night with 34 points. Since the Kozaks play the Machine in the final game, it will add drama to the night. The Golden Boot has only been handed out since the 2000 season.


 

 3rd ANNUAL UKRAINIAN NIGHT
WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 20TH VS. L.A. GALAXY

The Chicago Fire thanks the 7v7 league for their support of the 2003 Ukrainian Night. Every team committed to 20 vouchers. An exciting night is planned, honoring Chicago’s Ukrainian community. The 2003 7 v 7 Champions will be recognized at halftime. Plan on joining us.  Your vouchers may be redeemed from Dynamo player,Greg Zaskowski at all 7 v 7 games. For additional tickets or to redeem vouchers for other Fire games call Greg at 312-705-7235. 

THE KITCHEN IS OPEN

ATTENTION ALL PLAYERS!!! Take advantage of the refreshments at the Palatine CYM bar. Pizza, beer, chips etc. will be served throughout the night, every night during the 2003 season. Eat during the games and stick around after. Also, plan on attending the 2003 Steak Night. Look for details in future editions of the update.
